Hispa or Spiny beetle: Dicladispa armigera: Chrysomelidae: Coleoptera

ü  Grubs are minute, depressed and yellowish and mine between the epidermal layers of leaves. Pupates inside the mine.
ü  Adult beetles are small, steel blue in color, with small spines all over the body.  It scrapes the chlorophyll of the leaves.

ü   The leaves appear white, straight, discontinuous streaks. Blister like spotes near the tip is noticed.
