3. White grub: Leucopholis coneophora :Melolonthidae: Coleoptera
  • Adult: Brownish black.
  • Gradual death of saplings in nursery.
4. Termite:Odontotermes obesus:Termitidae: Isoptera



  •        Damage to seedlings in nurseries and transplanted ones in the earlier stages. They gnaw into the husk, tender growing point and the tender roots.
  •     Mud galleries on trunk, wilting of the central shoot and stunted growth are typical symptoms of attack. 
         5. Black headed caterpillar:Opisina arenosella : Cryptophasidae: Lepidoptera.
  •     Larva: Pale brown larva with Dark head.
  •     Adult: Dull grey coloured moths.      
  •    Dried up patches on leaflets of the lower leaves. Galleries of silk and frass on underside of leaflets.
    



    6. Coconut skipper: Gangara thyrsis : Hesperidae: Lepidoptera.

   ü  Larva: white, fluffy and waxy



Adult: greyish brown, 5 yellow spots on the fore wings
